Capture Log Stain is specifically designed to protect your home no matter what the weather condition or elevation. Capture's unequaled formula allows the coating to move freely as your logs inevitably expand and contract.
Loaded with UV absorbers, Capture protects your home from the damaging effects of the sun's ultraviolet rays. Capture glides on and clean up is easy with just soap and water. Capture Log Stain is the pigmented part of a two-part system: An extremely effective, attractive stain followed by a clear, weather-repellent topcoat called Cascade. Cascade provides added exterior protection against damaging UV rays. It dries with a modest sheen and adds depth to the appearance of stained logs. Use one of Capture Log Stain's ten beautiful, transparent colors and see your logs come alive as every knot, grain and detail is enhanced.

Product Questions
-
Is the Capture Dark Walnut color available in the Pre-Mix?
Unfortunately, the new Dark Walnut color for Capture Stain is currently available only in the Flex Tint version.
-
Would it be okay to mix Capture and Cascade together?
No, mixing Capture and Cascade together would hurt the performance of both products.
-
Do you have to spray on Capture or could you brush it?
Yes, you can spray or brush apply Capture. Sashco's recommendation is to spray one heavy coat of Capture to the point of refusal for the first coat. Next, coat the log ends multiple times to ensure the pores are sealed. Follow behind immediately with vigorous back brushing using large 5-6 in. deck and siding paint brushes on 3-4 ft. long poles. This forces the stain into the pores of the wood and promotes penetration and adhesion. Sashco recommends applying a second, lighter coat of Capture once the first coat has dried. Lastly, be sure to finish by spraying on one heavy coat of Cascade. Be sure to brush out any runs with each coat.
-
Does Capture have any mildewcide?
Capture does contain a small amount of algaecide. If you have had problems with mold or mildew growing on the surface of a stained wall, we recommend adding a mildewcide additive such as Mildew-X or Add-2 to a coat of Cascade when you do a maintenance coat of stain.
