Perma-Chink Log Wash - 1 Gallon
DETAILS
Perma Chink Log Wash is a liquid concentrate for cleaning log and wood surfaces. It can be used as a maintenance cleaner or to prepare the surface of wood for a new coat of stain or topcoat.
For preparing the surface of bare wood for a new coat of stain, Log Wash removes dirt, grime, pollen, and surface mold and mildew without harming the wood or the finish. As opposed to bleach solutions, Log Wash does not upset the natural pH balance of the wood, thus preventing wood fiber damage and iron tannate stains. (To treat gray, UV-exposed wood, see Permachink Wood Renew).
The exterior of a log home are a settling ground for dust, pollen and other airborne contaminants that dull the surface and encourage mold growth. A light cleaning once or twice a year will keep a home looking beautiful and helps prolong the life of the exterior wood finish.

Log Wash
The Log Wash I purchased from Twin Creeks is a product used and recommended by our log home maintenance crew. We brush and then gently wash with a sprayer our cabin each year using Perma-Chink Log Wash. The clean logs discourage water from clinging to a dirt film that would exist without this yearly maintenance. Twin Creeks made ordering easy and the product was shipped promptly and will now be ready for use for our annual fall cleaning. Twin Creeks had the right product and fast shipping.
Log wash ?
First time using this product vs bleach mix, or light dawn dish and water solution and must say not too impressed. Ive lived in my log home for 30 years. I dont wash it as often as I should, but I used this on an area that I had refinished about 3 years ago to light wash then recoat. 2C per gallon, light surface dirt.Still had to scrub with a soft brush, surely not soak on and just rinse thoroughly. This product did no differently than my other solutions at 20 times the cost. I also am in the process of sanding/blasting the majority of the house for a refinish. Ive used this on some of the new exposed wood, not that there is much for stains, but once again, see better results with a very light bleach solution. I'll be using the bleach solution to prep the log for fresh borate treatment and refinish, and save this to be used for occasional washing in the future.
Good Product
It works. I wish a gallon of product would go farther but it does work.
Does the job
Works well at removing the mold, mildew, dirt and webbing tat accumulates on my log surfaces. Spray on, let it work, then hose it off. Been using for 15 years.
Great product
Does everything I need it to. Removes grime, molds and mildews. Can be used at two strength levels, but 1 cup a gallon handles all the gunk. Very dependable stuff, used it for years.
Good Maintenance
This product is good for cleaning dust and light soiling conditions. I use it for maintenance once a year
Had some streaks on logs. Product didn’t remove them like I expected
Twin Creeks Log Home Supply
Hello Larry, I’m sorry the Log Wash didn’t perform like you had expected. It sounds like you might need a more abrasive solution to remove the streaks you mentioned. Perma-Chink Log Wash is best used to clean dirt and grime from logs. We offer other products that are more abrasive, and therefore better for more extensive jobs. Please call us at 800-299-8981 if you would like one of our customer service representatives to help find a solution. Best Regards, Phillip Webb

How much area will a jug of Log Wash cover?
Log Wash can be used at differing strengths depending on how concentrated you need the cleaner to be. Log Wash's label states it should cover 150-250 sf/gallon of diluted mix for either strength.
The lighter duty mix is 1 cup of Log Wash to 1 gallon of water. This should make 16 gallons of solution. This should give you a range of 2,400-4,000 square feet of coverage in a 1 Gallon jug of Log Wash.
The heavier duty mix is 2 cups of Log Wash to 1 gallon of water, which should make 8 gallons of solution. This should give a range of 1,200-2,000 square feet of cleaning coverage in a 1 Gallon jug of Log Wash.
