Perma-Chink Log & Timber Defense is a semi-transparent stain that is designed to deeply penetrate wood surfaces, supporting and strengthening the natural fibers from the inside out. Suitable for non-deck wood structures, Log & Timber Defense provides a beautiful matte finish that will also highlight the natural grain and texture of your wood.
Perma-Chink Log & Timber Defense combines ease of application with performance and longevity into a cutting-edge, semi-transparent stain that will highlight the texture and grain of your wood structure.
Safe and easy to use, Log & Timber penetrates the wood like an oil coating, while hardening into a “lattice,” which supports and strengthens the wood fibers from the inside out. With its excellent adhesion and durability, Log & Timber resists peeling and flaking, while providing UV protection and long-lasting beauty.

• Long-lasting color retention
• Outstanding adhesion and durability
• Semi-transparent finish highlights wood texture and grain
• No peeling or flaking

Log & Timber Defense Color Chart:
Applications Methods:
• Airless sprayer
• Brush, Roller, Application Pads
• Back-brush into surface
• Refer to product label for additional application instructions
Coverage Rate:
• 225 square feet/gallon (varies by substrate condition)
Surface Preparation:
The surface must be clean, dry, and free from dirt, debris, mill glaze, and old coatings to ensure the product penetrates the wood. DO NOT USE CHLORINE BLEACH AS A CLEANER. It can destroy the integrity of the wood and may lead to premature failure. If using chemical strippers, check the pH of the wood to make sure it is around 6.5-7 prior to application.
Directions for Application:
For best results, liberally apply Log & Timber Defense to the point of saturation. Application of the second coat should be done in a “wet-on-wet” application. For a uniform appearance, use consistent methods of application. Do not use a power mixer. Shake or manually stir with a paint stick. Do not apply if rain is expected within 6 hours. Top coats are not recommended. Do not apply on wet wood or in direct sunlight.
